Paul Meyer 1931-2023

He was our one and only "Lifetime Member". 
He introduced us to the "Diamond Point 4th of July Parade", followed by a potluck lunch at his house.  So fun! 

He also told us about the time he was sightseeing at a lookout on the Columbia.  His VW would not start.  So he opened both doors and let the wind (which howls through the area) push his car while he jumped inside and started it.  He let the wind do the work!  So funny!

We presented him with a "Lifetime Member" plaque. (His picture is on the front page of our Website.)  He was thrilled to be honored in this way.  He had just moved into a retirement home in Sequim.  The first thing he said was "Just wait until the girls see this!"

He was a wonderful and funny man!  And will be sorely missed.  Rest in Peace, Paul!

Dan Hendrickson 1944-2019

Dan was so proud of his 1963 rag-top. He bought it because it was built the same year he graduated from high school. He had to have major repair work done to it after he and Dave tried to burn it up! But the results were beautiful!

Dan showed his car at several North Olympic Volksfair car shows. He won a trophy each time. He would buy $100 worth of raffle tickets and then proceed to win most of the prizes. He would give away most of those he won. It was because of him that we changed the way we announced the winners so it would not be so obvious that he had won so many!

Bill Littlejohn 1946-2019

Bill had a large collection of VW's. He was a club member, but we'd only see him once a year at the Volksfair and he would bring another one of his VW's. A different one each time! All his cars were real prizewinners! And Bill was too. 

We will miss you, Bill!

Vinnie Doebbler 1957-2017

Vinnie was one of our founding members. At Vince's first club meeting in 2010, he was proud to tell us that his initials were VW! Easygoing and funny, he was great to have around. He contributed a lot to club events and projects. He was part of the car show committee for several years running. 

We will miss his gentle and funny soul. 
Ade Weedman 1948-2011
Ade was a charter member of the Strait Air Volksgruppe. He participated in almost all the cruises and special events of our group. He was famous for his Prime Rib French Dip Sandwiches which he brought to most of our events. Ade was passionate about his VW. He loved it and loved to show it off.
