Well, we finally made it up to Hurricane Ridge on Sunday after 2 years of trying. We had ten cars and thirteen members on the cruise. The weather was gorgeous - sunny and warm, but not too warm. The scenery was beautiful. We reached the top and cruised through the parking area which was full. Many tourists stopped to enjoy the many VWs. We made quite an entrance.
When we arrived at our usual picnic spot beyond the visitor's center, it was full. We cruised to the next picnic area and it was also full. So we decided to cruise back down the hill and picnic at the Heart O' The Hills camping area. Bruce led us to a lovely spot in the woods. We enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, macaroni salad, veggies, chips and lots of desserts including a VW decorated strawberry cake roll made by Annie; a homemade cherry pie made by Rodney, brownies, and an apple pie. Yummy!
We enjoyed lots of talking and sharing."
